The Mattapan to Ashmont High Speed Trolley , as it is officially known, is a much beloved symbol of a simpler time. (For the record, the high speeds top out at 24 mph, which sometimes feels recklessly fast when onboard). This was a rare glimpse of the trolley in the snow. The trolleys typically don't leave the station in those times and instead, commuters are diverted temporarily to buses.
